MESSAGE TO THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF NEPAL (MAOIST)

ON THE OCCASION OF THE 10^TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE INITIATION OF THE PEOPLE’S WAR IN NEPAL

Dear comrades,

Being busy with the difficult task of leading proletarian revolution in Nepal, you may not know how much this revolution and its people’s war is cherished and held close to the heart by the revolutionary communists and the revolutionary masses around the world. Its leaps and victories bring tears of joy to our eyes and brings into sharp focus the power of our class and our ideology; and its difficulties and bumps along the road, break our hearts with worry and anxiety and remind us of the military as well as ideological power of the reactionary class forces.

The world desperately needs to break its chains. In Nepal our proletarian revolution has dealt amazing blows to these chains. The people of the world are suffering painfully and suffocating within the wraps of capitalist-imperialist relations. This hard nut must be cracked by proletarian revolution, and it is being cracked more forcefully than any other place in the world by the revolution in Nepal. Because of the role that the revolution in Nepal is playing, it is loved and watched anxiously by millions of people around the world; and it is feared and despised by the reactionary and imperialist powers who frantically want to destroy it.

Dear comrades of the CPNM and PLA and the revolutionary people of Nepal:

You are not fighting to liberate only yourselves. You are fighting to pave the road to the emancipation of humanity as a whole. In other words, in that land, you are fighting out the historical mission of the proletariat. It does not matter whether the class origins of your individual fighters are worker or peasant or bourgeois or petit bourgeois. You are proletarian revolutionaries because you are fighting to carry out the historical mission of the proletariat. The fact that you have to batter down some feudal barriers in order to pave this road does not change the character of your revolution. Even while battering down those feudal and comprador barriers, you are fighting a proletarian revolution because you are doing this not like the bourgeois revolutions of the old type, but in a new way that would lead to and give way to higher goals. And the irony of revolution in the era of imperialism is that it is only by taking a road which leads to higher goals that we can really uproot feudalism in all its political, economic and ideological and social manifestations.

The recent upsurge in the mass political movement to abolish the monarchy was great and it was possible because of the existence of a powerful people’s war and a people’s army. This mass political movement was not a product of the 7 parliamentarian parties’ efforts though they were helpful for a while, it was one more manifestation of the great awakening of the masses of Nepal through 10 years of peoples war led by the CPNM. This mass political upsurge had certain achievements. It succeeded in making the king and his imperialist and expansionist backers retreat in the face of the movement of the masses. This cheered up the masses of Nepal and made the peoples of the world prouder of their Nepali sisters and brothers. But one of its biggest achievements was that it proved, in living colour, that the parties of the status quo (the parliamentarian parties) would eventually take the masses back to the old rotten institutions which serve to guard the old rotten feudal-comprador political, economic and social relations. It proved once again that, for this revolution to be able to really liberate the Nepali masses it has to carry out new democratic revolution and socialist revolution as part of the world proletarian revolution. It has to stay loyal to its communist vision and style of work. This is how our destinies in Nepal, Iran, India, the USA and every other country are woven together. We cannot liberate oneself without going all out for the emancipation of all. That is the beauty of the proletarian revolution, and that is the most inspiring thing in this dog-eat-dog world of capitalism.

Dear comrades,

To serve our sisters and brothers in Nepal and the world proletarian revolution, the proletariat of Iran must strive to wrench Iran out of the bloody hands of the reactionary comprador- feudal classes which today are led by a theocratic Islamic regime, and at the same time it must be prepared to fight against US imperialism, which is envisioning to invade Iran militarily and even launch an attack with tactical nuclear weapons. The aggressive posture of the US imperialists against the Islamic regime in Iran does not make this regime of reactionary Neanderthals “anti-imperialist” or guardians of the “national sovereignty of Iran”! No. These Islamic rulers are very loyal compradors and have been exploiting and plundering Iran’s human and natural resources for the last 27 years, on behalf of the world capitalist-imperialist system. They snatched command of the Iranian people’s anti-monarchial revolution 27 years ago with the help of the Western imperialist powers, and, after seizing power with the imperialists’ approval and assistance, immediately attacked and massacred thousands of our revolutionary and communist women and men, depriving the peoples of Iran of their best sons and daughters, sons and daughters who were the historical fruit of the people’s struggle against the reactionaries and imperialists. The fact that today the imperialist powers do not want these Islamic feudal compradors to reign over Iran any longer does not cleanse these reactionaries of the horrendous crimes they have committed against the people of Iran and their revolutionary aspirations.

Summing up that bitter experience, and healing the deep wounds of that defeat, our party has raised its head once again and has built up its forces to take up the challenges of today. Once again the communists and revolutionaries and masses in Iran are facing a complicated political scene. We are determined to lead the ship of revolution through these troubled and dangerous waters, guided with clear minds and the vigilance that is aroused in us by Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. Our revolution will build one part of a road which is indispensable for the victory of the world revolution: the Red Silk Road, a road stretching from Iran to China, passing through Afghanistan, India and Nepal. This is a vision that should guide our revolution. We will also wage our revolution with the goal of turning the “Greater Middle East” of US imperialism into the “Greater Socialist Middle East” of the oppressed and exploited masses. This proletarian internationalist vision has given us the energy to persist and pass through difficult hours, and we hope that we will maintain that vision through the future trials of our struggle. We are sure that your party as well as the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement as a whole will inspire and help us to do so.

Dear comrades,

We send our red salute to Chairman Prachanda and to all the comrades of the Central Committee of the CPNM as well as the fighters of the PLA and the revolutionary masses exercising red political power in the base areas. We whole-heartedly greet all the honest and truthful allies of the people’s war who are working in political movements, or the artistic and intellectual spheres, or helping in economic construction or rushing medical aid to it.

To our comrades in Iran and the world over:

We call upon all revolutionaries in Iran and the world over to rush to the assistance of the revolution in Nepal; to expose the imperialists who are trying to brand this glorious revolution and the CPNM as “terrorist”; to fight to prevent the intervention of the US imperialists and Indian expansionists in Nepal; to build awareness about this revolution and its lessons in every corner. We should make every revolutionary worker, peasant, woman and youth so aware of this revolution that they would be prompted to inquire how they can serve to strengthen it. They should all know that this is a revolution which has started from a small country but has aims and a heart as big as the world. It is ours.
