The world today is numbed by the arrogant brutality of the United
States. It has not only committed unprovoked aggression thereby trampling
underfoot sovereignty of nations and perpetrating mass-murder and wanton
destruction, it is also threatening that similar fate await those who dare
resist it. The US has proved time and again that it is the world’s foremost
predator and terrorist power. Yet, people the world over are breathing defiance
with a will to resist this Evil Empire as never seen in recent memory. In
furtherance of its global terrorist missions, the US is churning out lies and
juggling fabrications and half-truths on its head like no other power has done
before. It has proclaimed itself the “liberator” and branded those who resist
bondage, “terrorist.”
In recent years, in response to the rising tide of a truly liberating
People’s War in Nepal, against the age- old oppressive monarchy there, US
imperialism has stepped up its military interference and its espionage activities. It is propping up a
moribund regime and training its armed-forces even as this army and armed
–police carry out repeated massacres, rape, torture, and “disappearances” of
innocent civilians.
A ray of hope for the “wretched of the earth” is the ongoing
revolutionary people’s war in Nepal, which is dealing the monarchy and its imperialist
overlords a series of devastating defeats. Here, despite all evidences to the
contrary, it is on this chain-shattering process that the US rulers have pinned
the “terrorist” label. Their awesome propaganda machinery is working overtime
to repeat this nauseating lie, deceiving and misleading the gullible. Against
this backdrop, it is vital that people everywhere act to nail the lies.
A growing international movement is gathering momentum to support the
revolution in Nepal and in other countries. This movement is also rallying to
the call to secure the release of Comrade Gaurav, a prominent leader of the
Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN [M]) (which has been leading the
people’s war in Nepal since 1996). Comrade Gaurav was arrested by the Indian
authorities on 20 August 2003 in the southern Indian city of Chennai. The
government of India, which has been
conspiring and collaborating with the Nepali regime to stamp out the rebellion
for some years now has stepped up its interferences and is apparently
contemplating to extradite Comrade Gaurav – and more recently, another leader
of CPN(M), Mohan Baidhya, better known as Comrade Kiran - to Nepal.
On 8 February two other well-known leaders, Matrika Prasad Yadav and
Suresh Ale Magar were captured in a kidnapping-style by the police in India and
handed over to the Nepalese Royal Army. Their present conditions are still
unknown. Extradition however would mean certain imprisonment, torture and
possibly death at the hands of the Nepali rulers. It is of utmost urgency that
we act now to thwart this conspiracy.
This info- evening is to give more information about human right
violation by the Royal regime, the US intervention and development of People’s
War in Nepal. We invite all to participate in the programme.
